RIS Data Base Manager Position
If you would like to provide significant service to Rein In Sarcoma and yet set your own time and work out of your home then serving as the RIS data base manager may be a great opportunity for you! For the last five years Carol Carlson has done a magnificent job of establishing and maintaining the RIS data base, providing needed reports, on the thousands of people who support and are served by Rein in Sarcoma. She has done this all from her home computer using Microsoft Access.
When Carol indicated several months ago that she would need to give up these responsibilities, a team of talented RIS volunteers worked to select and develop a “cloud” (external server) data base program which will allow other key RIS leaders to enter and use data from the data base as is appropriate. This should significantly reduce the amount of time needed by the new data base manager.
Persons interested in this position must:
- Have Good computer and internet skills and have access to the net.
- Have Good attention to details
- Handle all information in a confidential manner
- Have general knowledge of Microsoft Access
- Be able to learn the new data base program, DabbleDB. Current RIS volunteers have developed the new RIS Dabble Database program and will provide training and support. You do not need to know programming. To learn more about Dabble DB, click here.
RIS will provide any needed software and pay for any needed supplies.
