The Patient and Family Support Committee hosted the 5th Annual Rein in Sarcoma Remembers event on October 23. The event provided space for those who have lost someone to a sarcoma cancer to make connections with others who have experienced loss, and to reflect on special memories of their loved ones.
At this year’s event, family members and friends participated in a guided Mandala Walk with Michelle Kolling, End-of-Life Doula and founder of HELD. Michelle is an RIS Board Member and dedicated volunteer. She was a caregiver for her husband, Brett, who passed away from sarcoma. Family and friends walked Silverwood Park in St. Anthony and gathered leaves, branches, and flowers to create a beautiful mandala. The group had a bonfire, s’mores and hot cider, and shared stories and memories. The event emphasized that no one walks alone in grief.
